Our original plan was to move TODAY, December 20. I should be sitting in front of my pellet stove for one last evening in an empty living room (except for a plastic cup full of wine) after a day of cleaning an empty house. Instead, I spent one last sad day at work. Thursday was supposed to be my last day, but our plan to hunt for houses next week was spoiled by this whole holiday thing. Apparently there are three holidays in Canada next week. When is the US going to catch on to this Boxing Day thing?
I knew it was going to be hard to leave my job, but I'm thankful for the few extra weeks. I actually did some of the stuff I said I'd get done the first time. It took me approximately an hour and a half to leave my office this afternoon. I didn't get to say goodbye to everyone, but we'll hopefully get together for a farewell lunch after the holidays.
So for now I sit in the chair that hasn't been packed drinking wine out of a real glass (or two) while Nick finishes packing for our whirlwind trip to Montreal in the morning. All I can think of are all the movies where people are stuck in airports on Christmas.

Let me know what you're really thinking. I can handle it.
